My opinion on this is that is a bug in the 2.013 server. I can reproduce the
bug via telnet, and have sent a report to the gopher maintainers. It seems to
be gone in 2.014, so I suppose its a dead issue now; when boombox et. al.
updates, I speculate that the problem *should* go away.

Back when I started WSGopher and decided to make it MDI, I really didn't think
that "previous" menu was important. It seems that folks miss that, though.
Let me ask what you think about this:
1) If you wanted to get the 'previous' menu for an item, that is the directory
(or search window) it was launched from, you may need to live with the fact
that the window has been deleted, so 'previous' may not always be available.
2) What do people think about "tree" controls? I have spoken with several
individuals in the commercial world who are working on this, and I really give
credit to my friend Aaron Reizes for suggesting it last summer. A "tree"
control would give you some kind of nested, hierarchical way to view
directories, kind of like the Windows File Manager or some other, cooler
thing. The big plus for something like this is that it would reduce window
clutter, which I believe was Aaron's point.
I haven't worked on such a thing yet, mainly to put functionality in other
areas.

I have a patched version on my system that fixes one set of GPFs; I started
work on the next set, but unfortunately it's close to five here, my wife says
the kids are hungry, we have unexpected company coming in for the weekend and
I'll be out of state and "off-net" next week. I haven't decided yet whether
to make an imcomplete set of patches available or not; if I do, I'll post
something before I head out.
